Directions: Cut several pieces of foam padding to fashion rocks. Divide the children into teams. Give each team a pile of "moon rocks" and a set of kitchen tongs. Place a bucket for each team at a finish line. The object of the game is to be the first team to transport all of the moon rocks from the pile to the bucket using only the tongs (robot arm). The first racer will pick up a rock, run to the bucket return to his team and pass the tongs to the next player. The game continues until all of the "rocks" have been moved.
This recipe makes enough for about three children.
Directions: Prepare two flat cakes according to package directions. When cooled, put chocolate icing on top with Oreos smashed up in the icing to look like a planet's surface. Make little UFOs by baking two very small round cakes, using the package directions. To decorate them, cover each cake with chocolate icing and put little yellow dots of icing along the edges to make it look like UFO lights. Make aliens by baking cupcakes with white cake mix according to package directions, but add enough drops of food coloring to turn the cake batter green. Top each cupcake with green icing (white icing mixed with green food coloring), and on top of each alien insert two pieces of a pull apart Twizzlers for the antennae and two black jelly beans for the alien eyes.
Goodie bags can include Mars Bars, Rock candy, Pop Rocks, Milky Way Bars, toy walkie talkies, space stickers, glow in the dark wall decorations, alien figures, foam rockets, and bubbles.
