For tableware use:
Use pastel colors for plates, napkins, cups, and flatware. Use a pastel colored tablecloth as well. If you would rather have the official Care Bears theme items, you can find them at Whale of a Party.
Guess which bear I am. Care Bears make great charades starters. Let children act out their favorite “Care Bear” character, while others try to guess which one they are supposed to be.
Have children sit in a circle on the floor. Have a tape player handy with a fun song playing. You will also need to have the same amount of Care Bears (that you can give away) as you have children. While the music plays begin handing out Care Bears, to the children in the circle. Give every child except the birthday girl a Care Bear. (the birthday girl gets a hug instead.) Children need to pass their bears to the right as long as the music continues to play. When children have been passing bears for a little while, stop the music. Whichever child is not holding a bear when the music stops “Wins.” This means they get the extra bear that you did not hand out. Take one bear away from the circle, and let children begin passing bears again. Keep playing until all of the children have had a chance to “win” this game.
Teddy Bear Sandwiches make a fun and festive birthday snack for kids. Cut bread into “Teddy Bear” shapes using a teddy bear cookie cutter. Spread bread slices with butter and lay them on a cookie sheet. Top with shredded cheese, and place under the broiler for 1 to 2 minutes, until cheese melts. Put halves together for a “baked grilled cheese.”
Serve assorted berries, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and blackberries, with mini-marshmallows. Serve in Care Bears drinking cups found at a party supply store or at The Party Works.
