What's a birthday party without fun and games? Here is a list of birthday party games that are sure to keep bodies moving and mouths smiling!
Birthday parties are such a joy for kids. They look forward to this day for so long, and having games to play makes the day even more special. These are not your ordinary Duck Duck Goose games and pin-the-tail on whatever. These games are unique and fun. They are sure to be crowd pleasers for all party guests.
This is a simple game that goes over really well with the "tough" guys in the crowd. You will need dozens of small-sized balloons (not helium) and provide two adult-sized sweat suits. Divide the group of kids into two teams. Select one person from each team to be in the competition. Have them put on the sweat suits. Give each team the same number of balloons. At your signal, each team will start blowing up the balloons and tying them. The selected competitor will stuff their sweat suit with balloons, creating massive muscles in the meantime. When you signal again, after about five minutes, they will stop stuffing balloons. The team that used the most balloons is declared the winner.
This is a good outdoor game where kids can be silly and loud. You will need 2 plastic bowls per player, glue, 4 inches of elastic for each player, tennis balls. Before the party you will need to glue the bottoms of two bowls together and allow them to dry. Punch two holes in each side of one bowl and attach elastic to make a chin strap. You can decorate the bowls ahead of time or have the kids decorate their own bowls before playing the game. Have the kids pair up and stand opposite of each other, at least several feet apart. They need to be wearing their hats (bowls) on their heads. Have one player try to toss the ball into the other player's hat. Keep going until the kids get tired of playing.
Come on down! It's time for the "Prize is Right." You need to purchase small items, such as individually wrapped candies, art supplies, stickers, cards, small toys, etc. As you purchase each of the items, keep track of how much they cost individually. Now write these prices down on to tags and place the tag under the appropriate item, making sure it is face-down. Give each guest a notepad and a pencil. Have the guests try to guess the exact price of each item as you hold them up on display. Ask them to write their guess on a piece of paper and when everyone is done, they will all hold up their guesses for everyone to see. Announce the actual price of the featured item. Whoever guesses closest to the actual price wins that round. Keep going until all have the items have been featured. Once a guest wins a prize, they are out of the game to give everyone else a chance to win.
Everyone likes to receive presents. The catch to this game is whether you will get a great present or a trick present. Play at your own risk. You will need to purchase small items such as individually wrapped candies, small toys, and other things that kids would like to receive. Also purchase some novelty items such as prunes, underwear, mouthwash, and other silly things. Wrap each present in a nice box with fancy wrapping paper to make them all look pleasing to the eye. Write numbers on the bottom of each present, and hand out numbers to each party guest as they arrive. When you are ready to play the game, call out a number. The person with that number goes to get the present with that number on it. He must open the present. Repeat by calling out another number. Now the second person has the choice to take the present from the first person or get his corresponding numbered present and open that. Make a limit that a present can only be taken from someone else three times before it stays with the third person to take it.
