If your son loves baseball, what better way to celebrate his birthday than with a baseball themed party? You can be sure that this party won't "strike out" with guests.
Baseball Party InvitationsBaseball Birthday party invitations are easy to make yourself. Simply cut white card stock in a circle shape. On the front add black lines and red stitches with markers. You can use the picture of a baseball provided as a guide. Write "This Party Will Be a Grand Slam" in the center of the baseball. Turn the baseball over to write the pertinent information, such as who the party is for, place, date, time, and RSVP information. Have your child pass out invites to friends. Baseball Party DecorationsYou have many possibilities when planning a baseball themed party. Buy a baseball-shaped piñata and fill it with candy for the kids to hit with a baseball bat. Hang your child’s baseball shirts (if he plays in a league) or his favorite team paraphernalia around the room. Cover the table with a green tablecloth and scatter baseball cards over the table. Kids would probably love to trade cards for fun. Hang a birthday baseball pennant in the room that features your child’s name. Baseball Party ActivitiesIf the weather is nice, plan the party at your local empty baseball field or at a park. Set the party up in a tent or nearby pavilion. Have a baseball clinic for your guests. You can hire local teen baseball players from the high school to come give the kids tips on how to play the game. This will be a good idea since some of the kids at the party may not know how to play baseball. Attend a baseball game. If you have a team you love to watch, gather up the kids and take them out to the ball park. Bring a few blankets and sit out in the grass so the kids can enjoy the game without having to sit still so long. Have the guests make personalized pennants. This is an easy craft that party guests can take home and hang up. Most craft stores sell pre-cut pennants made of felt or foam. Pick these up for the guests and give them foam letters and shapes to decorate. Cake and Snacks IdeasTraditional baseball foods are in order for this party. A baseball party wouldn’t be complete without sodas, hot dogs, peanuts, and cracker jacks. You might even consider renting a cotton candy machine to whip up some of this favorite sugar snack. Make a baseball cake by baking stacking two eight inch round cakes on top of one another. Frost with white frosting and decorate just like a baseball using red and black icing or red and black string licorice. Baseball Party Goodie BagsFill a goodie bag with a box of cracker jacks, baseball tattoos, and trading cards. You may even give each kid a baseball and let all the party guests sign each one with a permanent marker.
